They will then move onto a unit on Digital Health. In PE, students are commencing an Athletics unit in preparation for the upcoming Athletics Carnival. Students will have the opportunity to practice both track and field events, with an emphasis on skill development and correct technique. |

Each student will create an experimental tile to practice moulding and joining techniques, then design an artwork that extends and builds upon their original work. In this term of Year 7 Japanese, students are learning to write and speak about themselves, which will culminate in a self-introduction presented to the class. Topics will include saying their name, age, nationality and things they like. In Term 4, Year 8 English students will complete a novel study of ‘The Simple Gift’ by Steven Herrick, a wonderful Aussie story written in free verse about ‘belonging’. The Common Assessment Task will revolve around quote analysis and paragraph writing to explore character perceptions. Towards the end of the term, students will learn about vital resume and interview skills. |

Year 8 students will be exploring the topic of ‘changing nations’. Students will use board games (and make one of their own!) to find out how and why countries change over time. We will take a deep dive into Australia’s shifting demographics and complete a CAT that uses data, graphs and text. Students will then examine how slavery profoundly changed the map and history. To finish, we will look at China's rise as a superpower. | |
